Why, but why and why???

These were what we found ourselves asking upon leaving the cinema. Caught Terminator Salvation last weekend. Don't get me wrong, though. It's a great movie but if you haven't watched the previous instalments of the Terminator, you would be lost and that's basically what happened to us. My mother was the only one who managed to clarify our doubts but she was in the end left in the lurch with a couple of question marks in which she struggled to find the solutions to. I had to browse through the information from where else but the Wikipedia. Then only, I finally got it. Yay!

Yes, it is a loud production - with the explosions and gun-shots. Yes, it is not a film rich in twists and turns, and creativity. But all in all, it is an awesome movie. Or, perhaps it's simply because too complicated of a movie would turn our interest down (we are not competent at all times to understand certain really deep and meaningful films, all right!). If there is one thing I have to pick on, it would be the fact that John Connor (the leading actor, I suppose) wasn't exactly the one who led from the outset of the movie. Marcus (Sam Worthington) was instead, awarded the spotlight, which I think wasn't that wise of a decision. Everybody knows that John Connor is the hero of the day, so why put somebody else is the central role?! Although I did hear that this movie was for Marcus and the role of Marcus was originally to be filled in by Christian Bale but Bale decided to take on the character of John Connor. Hence, John Connor's screen role was expanded.
